Default engine light..?

My engine light came on today and stayed on.

I replaced the plug wires earlier today....could that be the prob?

The wires were from J&P Cycles...and the correct ones for my '04 FLSTC.

any advice please?

Hold in the odometer button while turning the bike on and off 3 times. Make sure the kill switch is set to on. Use the odo button to scroll through and find the code. Post the code here and we will help you out.

I did the same thing on my '02 Heritage. Thought I'd change the wires so bought a set of Accel's from Dennis Kirk.

Stupid me cut the original longer wire to get it off.

Then I couldn't go back to the old wires when the check engine light stayed on.

Bought a set of 10mm HD Screamin Eagle wires from Chicago HD.

Problem fixed. Light stays off now.

I checked the plug wires I put on today...they appear to be on ok.

I even cleared the code....and got it back within 1 minute of riding.
The exhause feels even in both pipes.

P1353 is a combustion code. Plug wires my be switched, bad spark plug, bad connection, ect. Does it run? If so, sound like a$$? Hope this sends you in the right direction.

Have you tried putting the old plug wires back on? Clear the code and try that.
