How do you torque slider end caps with the handlebars on?
I just replaced my lower sliders and I have done this job a few times, but this time I left the handlebars on. Is there a way to torque the slider end caps on the forks with the handlebars still on? Is it really necessary to pull the handlebars off??
Handlebars don't attach to the sliders. If you've really done this a few times wouldn't you know that? Put your fender on and tighten. Or am I missing some new model bike?
I think he means fork tube, not slider... and I'm guessing he has short risers, so the bars are in the way.
To the OP:
If my guess (above) is correct, it isn't something that needs to be torqued. Just snug them down with a wrench. If you absolutely won't be able to sleep at night unless you tighten to the H-D specified torque value, then you'll either have to remove the bars or get a crows foot adapter for your torque wrench.
Yes...I meant fork tube caps up top. The handlebars are low. I just tighten them up like Mr. Lucky said so they should be fine. Thanks for the crows foot adapter..If I can't sleep, I try that.
