Like I said in the OTHER 422 thread, I just got the 422's installed on my '08 FXSTB (got an AMAZING deal from a fellow HDF-er) and they are MUCH better than the stock shocks with or without bolts. I have mine set to the softest setting and while not air ride, they are great for what I need at this time.
There's a whole thread about those eBay similar to 422's shocks. Me and some other guys sent questions to the seller like are they height adjustable and how are they like the 422's and never received a reply. I wouldn't risk it. Just buy real 422's. They're worth the money.
Can anyone that upgraded from stock to 422s comment on exactly what is improved? Is the ride more comfortable? Better over bumps? Through the corners? etc?
I wouldn't mind lowering my '10 Heritage from the stock suspension to something a little more slammed like the FBlo & Deluxe suspensions. But I went through that with my Street Bob. And even the smallish 1/2" drop on the 'Bob resulted in a much harsher ride. Especially on the rough roads here in the northeast.
