Default Belt Tire Slap
I am in the process of mounting a 180 Metzeler in the stock swingarm with a 1-1/8" belt and pulley and stock bake caliper. I have it together now with approx. 3/8" from the belt to the tire. It runs down the road great but when I give it heavy gas (pas a car) the belt vibrates violently and slaps the tire. Is my belt too tight? Too loose? What can I do to help this?

How did you line up your pulleys?

sounds too loose. i had a tire with 1/4 space and it never slapped

If you can grab the belt and twist it 45 degrees it is right. It sounds loose.
