Default Heartland Kit for My Train

So... after months of playing around (see my Demonscycle thread), and talking to Ralph @ Spencer's Cycle in Belleville, NJ, we came to the conclusion that the only real TRUE way I'm going to get the look I'm after is to go with the Heartland EZ200 kit. I looked into and was interested in the RSD Tracker fender, but after speaking with the RSD folks in Cali, they told me that I'd have to do all kinds of extra work under the seat to make it all fit. This would add greatly to the cost of the project.

So, with everything installed, the Heartland kit would come to $2500. This, needless to say, it beyond what I originally wanted to spend. But I am obsessed with getting my Train to look the way I want.

Does this sound like a good deal to you guys?

$2500 is a bit too much for me, but if you can swing it, go for it.

I want a heartland too, but can't get over the fact it's 2 THOUSAND dollars for a fender, splash and seat.

Looks killer though, so demand drives price and all that.

Did you check with the Dr? I saw a while back he was dealing heartland now.

I know it's a lot of $, but it's literally the only kit on the market that bolts right up- no moving of ECM's, no reduction of battery sizes (which I was told by RSD that I would have to do with the Tracker kit), etc. Heartland knows they're the only true game in town and they charge accordingly.

Isn't yours an 07 JY? That means ya cuttin off the frame horns too I thinks. They are Bad A$$ though. I'd love to have a RSD kit or Heartlander but can't drop that coin so I'll settle for a little extra Powder Coating and repaintin it.

Yeah, I love the kit too. I just keep thinking, "why are they the only kit like that?" I gotta believe that someone else could put a similar bolt on kit together for half that much and have more business than they could handle.

Anyway, I'm a cheap bastard and I always want the expensive toys.

I've been tracking your posts bud, really curious to see where you go with your bike. Good luck!

I think the reason Hartland is the only game in town is because they designed up a bolt on strutless fender solution. Now if you had tabs welded to your frame and could then use struts, then you(us) would have more options.
