I'm new to the HDForum, but really looks like a great place to be. I need a little help with my 2000 Fatboy. I'm getting a little older and found it much more of an effort to pull the clutch. I lubed the cable, however this did not help. I'm now in the process of installing an easy pull kit. I've gotten the parts that connect to the cable installed, however they did look just like what I took out, and now ready to install the spring plate. This is where I need the help. I don't have the maintenance manual so I'm at a loss. Do I have to remove the primary cover, or just the derby cover, to replace the plate. I think I remember how adjust the clutch after installed from having to work on my 79 FLH and I do have the manual on it somewhere (I just moved). Thanks for any help I can get.
OK, You do need to take off the primary cover. After that it is a breeze to change the spring plate, however after doing all that, I can't feel one bit of difference in the pull of the clutch. This was a VTWIN "https://www.vtwinmfg.com/catalogs/cyr/pdf/76.pdf" part 18-0559. I called and told them the parts from their kit looked exactly like what I was taking off. Could not find anyone that could tell me the difference.
