Is the diode circuit, passing lamps, powered by the headlamp wire/circuit. If it is, you are drawing more amps through the headlamp wire then it is designed for. Not saying its a problem, just something to look at.

People have changed to other bulbs in the passing lamps with good results. From what I recall they had to modify the bulb plugs and be careful how hot the bulbs may get.
I agree the stock headlamps suck. Does this diode thing increase the light output of the aux lights or just allow them to be on with the bright headlamp. If it's just the latter I can't see them helping that much.
It just allows them to stay on when you flip to hi beams.
Believe me it helps a bunch.

If it was drawing to much current for the circuit it would blow the fuse. I've had no problems and have had them this way for over a year. I ride with the high beam on. For those that are curious I will measure the current and post it.
The reason I did this is for more light at night. And to give as much visibility as I can for the idiots that might turn in front of me during the day. Which happen in '08. Damn near killed me.
Have you thought that maybe your lights are out of alignment? Have someone ride in front of you....if they can't see your lights or they look "dim" I bet they aren't aligned correctly...that was my issue when my bike was new....which wasn't discovered until a friend was in front of me and noticed the "dim lights". There are many upgrade options however with bulbs... some better than others...some a waste of money.

That was the problem I had, mostly the driving light on mine were really low, they didn't help at all at first.
I had to adjust the main beam and let the dealer do the driving lights, need a special socket to tighten them after their loosened..

I noticed in the reflection of a tailgate how off they were and used an open end wrench to adjust mine, it's an IQ test but doable. I used a black tshirt to throw over whatever two lights I'm not adjusting. I made the aux lights the same height as the main and out a little. It helped a lot for me.
