On the fence
About exhaust options...as I understand the exhaust system, if I get Rush slip-ons, just the slip-ons and that's it, I wont need a tune, download, or air new air intake. Am i correct? If i did the just slip-ons is there anything I could do to get more power? Was actually leanin towards getting the full exhaust, but the sound of the Rush slip-ons is what I really like. Keep coming back to it. Like the deeper rumble sound. Although I can afford the full package, saving around 1200 doesnt hurt. Wondering if I will regret not getting the full system. Thoughts or suggestions are appreciated. Nick.
To get any more really serious power to the rear wheel your going to have to do more than just add slip on's.
You can however get the slip on's and put them on now without a problem.
Then add a new intake and tune later to get as much as you can out of a stock motor.
Yes a full system 'might' work better, but any real difference on a basically stock motor would be negledgable in the real world.
So unless and until you start doing inside the engine mods, like cam's and head work.
A full system IMHO isn't really worth the extra money unless you like how a particular system looks.

My buddy just bought a 2010 Fat Bob had Rush Slipons put on with the 1.75 baffels What a disappointment it sounds like a muffeled motor boat. This was my first expierence with rush so I am no expert.Hopefully its just the baffels because it really does sound like crap. If you do get them I would go with the 2" inch baffels like I told him in the first place. But this all seems like personal taste.Get what you like.He traded in his sportster 1200 with cycle shacks that sounded 100 times better.
I had Rush slip ons and couldn't stand the sound. They are not a low rumble, more like a high blatty whine. Went with a full V&H system. Much better, low rumble sound and engine seems to breathe a lot easier. Of course you will likely not get any performance benefit without an air cleaner and fuel injection module.
Thanks for the input. Was thinkin about the 2/1 V&H big radius or propipe if I didnt get the rush set up. Happy 4th. Thanks to all the vets and current servicemen/women.

From experience, never settle when it comes to your motorcycle. You will always regret it. Shop around, find some good deals. There are always exhaust systems, air filters, and EFI management systems for sale here in the parts forums and e-bay. You can get it all at good prices. It's better than buying a set of slip-ons now and regretting it later. Then you will end up shelling out the money for a full system anyway with some slip-ons sitting in your garage until you find somebody to buy them.
I have 2" Rush slip-ons and love them. They are loud as heck, deep, just plain sound great. The more miles I put on, the better they sound. I did the high flow intake filter, sert, and dyno tune. Not cheap, but I gained a tad under 10 horses in power. I like the way they look, for now.
Some have had luck with just slip-ons, others have not. It's a coin toss. My plugs turned chalky in a few miles, thus the rest of the work was done.
