I have a 99 softail standard with the screaming eagle mikuni carb and kit. About a week and 1/2 ago I cracked the throttle and released real quick and it backfired thru the carb. All looked good at the time but about 2 days later i found a puddle of gas coming out of the overflow tube. Someone suggested I turn the gas off and run it till it shuts down and that should fix the problem. They think its dirt in the float. I think differently. Anyone have any suggestions or ever have this problem??????

I dont have a screamer but an older Evo and everytime I start it and go down the road, as soon as I get on it it will cough and miss then pick back up. It never fails its like clock work. It will do it once then its done. Also I have to turn the fuel off everytime I park it when im done with my ride. If it sets over night it will drain all the fuel out of the bowl in the carb. Hope this helped some
