I have the Saggy bags on mine and like fcsallan said if you follow the instructions you can get them installed but it isn't exactly easy. I installed mine about a year after I bought the bike.
They did a nice job. I haven't installed the pannel on the underside of the lid but did all the others abd they definintely helped. Mine weren't in horrible shape to begin with but they certainly did what they said they would. Installation wasn't too difficult either
Yep, that's what I used and they worked fine. My bags were totally collapsed before I install the stiffeners..
I would presume that the OP has taken care of his saddlebags in the 4 years since he started this thread.
But, since we are on the subject, I used the HD Heritage flat top and lock kit. It is an easy install and no shipping your bags anywhere. My saddlebags look like new in the two years since installing the kit and they take a beating in the hot Texas sun.
I'm looking to stiffen my saddlebags and I've been searching online and I came across Leather Lid Inserts Saddlebag Inserts. They seem to specialize in Heritage Softail Classic which is what me and my wife ride. They seem pretty good, but was wanting to get the low down on the product.
Has anyone here used their saddlebag inserts? How are they? They seem to do the trick and are they easy to install?
Papa Bags for me, 15 min install and they leave some character to the bags.

Bedee is resurrecting all posts related to saggy bags and dissing a company. Here are all of his HDForum posts:
Boss Bags. But I was able to have them done during the 110th as I live an hour from where they set up shop in Wisconsin. All I can say is that they actually look better than new. The longer straps and locks make it, to me, a no brainer. Pic posted is after almost 2 years and 9K miles.
