I recently bought a detachable sissy bar for my 06 night train (part# 52729-08) and bought the docking kit for it also. In speaking with the dealer he said about a turn signal relocation kit, but my turn signals are all the way back on the fender struts. When I installed the sissy bar it wont lock in because the turn signals are in the way by about 3/8's of an inch. Does anyone know about this?? THANKS!
Let me know if you decide to cut the nub off and how it seems. If it works I just blew way too much money relocating my signal lights.
If it's anything like the Fat Boy Lo I just did it on your signal lights are mounted on two screws at the back even though it seems like one. A relocation kit mounts on one of the bolts freeing enough space for the sideplate to clear them while running the wiring through the mounting bolt itself. Fairly easy to do yourself but I ended up taking the back fender off to make it even easier.
I just ground the nub off the detachable sissy bar brackets, it looks fine and works great... only little issue is the little button to release the lock pushes on the tail light. This was done on 09 Fatboy...
i just purchased the docking kit, signal relocation kit ,sissy bar etc and it all works great..the thought of screwing up the powder coating by grinding the tabs off wasnt for me..the relocation kit looks pretty good its well thought out..
