I have a 2009 FLSTC with Stage I, rush slip ons and PC V. Looking for the next jump in performance. Considering a 110 kit. Pretty pricey, but is there anyone that has done that and ended up considering it a waste of money? Any issues with reliability, overheating, etc.? Did you get the boost in power you expected?
Man, that kit is 2k just for the parts. That doesn't include what it'd cost to split the case, re-dyno, and a slew of other things.
Not only that, but those numbers that harley supplies for that kit arn't especially amazing.
That kit harley produces still has to conform to EPA BS. I'd go with the S and S 106" and some cams. Not only would it be cheaper just for the kit (about 1300 cheaper) you wouldn't have to split the case.
Ive heard bad stuff about the 110" and alot of good stuff about the 103". Plus for a 96" to jump to a 103" all u have to do is change ur pistons out for shorter ones.
I asked that same question yesterday at the dealer, the Service manager actually looked at me and told me it would be cheaper to buy an S&S motor prebuilt and have it installed by the time you got done with all the labor and cost of the Harley Kit...lol

Are you sure about this? It doesn't sound right. All that would do is lower the compression ratio. Stock is 9.2:1.
I thought you had to bore the cylinders, get new pistons, maybe rework the heads depending on the cams you choose.
The problem with going big is the crank on the 03 and later twin cams. They are prone to slipping. If you want to do it right you'll need to split the cases and send the crank to a reputable machinist to true and weld it. Balance it if you want to spend the extra bucks. Also replace the crappy crank bearings too.
Paying someone to bore out your cylinders to a 103", changing your pistons, cams, and having your heads ported and polished will do way more power than the Harley 110 kit. It is cheaper and will get you over 100 HP and 100 TQ.

Where are you getting your info? Shorter pistons? Wow that is interesting stuff.
