Default Tranny Leak?

My Bike has developed a small leak. It's such a small leak that it's very difficult to tell where it's coming out of. It appears to me, that it may be coming from the speedometer sensor on the tranny, Is it even possible for fluid to could come out of that spot?

Sure, fluid can work it's way past any seal, even an o-ring.

Wash the bike. Get some spray Desenex and spray it in the suspected area(s). Go for a little ride and you'll probably find your leak.

You mean the stuff you spray on your feet when they itch?

Yep. It's a spray powder with with just enough binder to hold it on your skin (or engine). The smallest leak is immediately visible, especially on a black engine.

Ah, very clever! Thanks for the tip -- next time I have a leak I'll try that.

My old stuff leaks so much that I hardly notice small leaks on the new stuff. I swear some of these old bikes MANUFACTURE oil. My '41 flathead has been parked since going to the 100th in Milwaukee and I still have to empty the drain pan under it periodically.
