I think I may have found a replacement for my '03 Heritage! The dealer called me with a '02 Heritage, Jade green, EFI, all the reservoirs, levers, and switch housings are chrome, otherwise stock. 11K miles and cosmetically excellent for $10500. I'm trying not to get too emotional about the buy, but it seems like a fair price from which to negotiate. What do you think about that price!
I totalled my '03 in a crash about a month ago. NADA shows an average retail on an '02 of $9700. I mentioned the chrome housings just to give an idea of the upgrades. Don't know why someone has to be a smart a## about it. I thought this was a forum to kick around ideas.

The mileage is low, but I think you could find a much newer bike for the same money, if you looked around yourself.
My 2 cents. All the upgrades don't mean a thing unless you're lucky enough to find a buyer with the exact same taste as you. $5,000 worth of chrome does not make a bike worth $5,000 more. I sold my Sportster to a dealer. After he made an offer of $5k, I said fine, but I removed upgrades that cost me nearly $1,000. He still gave me the $5K and I sold the removed parts on ebay and here on the forum. If NADA on your '03 was $9,700, I'd offer $9 and go up from there.

+1 the dealers certainly wont pay for the upgrades on trade in but they sure will charge for them when they sell the bike. Honestly offer 8700 and be willing to meet at about 9200-9300
Just my 2 cents, but if you're looking at bikes 7-8 years old, there are some killer deals on craigslist and whatnot. Lots of folks have to pay bills and if it's in that age, it's probably paid off so open to any offer.
Either way, as long as it's what you want, go for it! Anything is worth whatever someone else is willing to pay bud.
