Default Rubber scuffs on the pipe

Well I guess it had to happen eventually. Went and stuck my boot against the nice chrome, albeit very hot pipe heat shields and left a nice black smear. What the best way to remove it? Seems like its pretty cooked on there...

Was thinking about using a blade but that might scratch the pipe...

Just try some chrome cleaner and elbow grease. You might get lucky and it will all come off without much work.
I had burnt on rainsuit and chrome polish removed it all with mucho elbow grease.

Try bronze wool; available at boatyards and ship chandlers.

Heat the pipes up and spray over cleaner on a rag (away from the bike). Wipe with oven cleaner. Polish pipes with chosen chrome polish. Done.

Easy off oven cleaner. Heat the pipes up and spray on. let it cool off and it should wipe clean. If its real stubborn use a Mr Clean Magic Eraser

Dont use a blade, you will scratch the pipes

No big deal, it happens all the time. I have always used easy off oven cleaner, the cold version. Spray it on cold pipes at night and just wipe it off in the morning, works every time.

Hmmm....Maybe I use GooGone too much on stuff, but that works well for me with little effort, and NOT warming the pipes up first. Never had an issue, and it takes care of it every time.

No discolouration on my chrome at all. Just FYI.

Autosol and elbow grease are all I'll ever use on my pipes. For anything. Ever. Did I say Ever? I mean......Ever.

Use extra fine steel wool, lightly, on them when the pipes are warm. Its too easy....
