Is there any Reason why not to install Laced wheels on a Fat Boy.
after all it is a Softail.
But whats the deal with OEM tires being seperate for the front and rear?
The girlfriends wheels on her 02 look like s**t and I have the profiles for it minus a rear hub
I like the look but wouldn't do it. First, if you get a flat you're doomed because of the tube. Second, I've personally had issues with my spokes coming lose and causing wobble. So bad that I got a new wheel under warranty.
Changed from profile spokes to PM wheels. Running radials feels much better on the road. Not dealing with tubes is a plus. But, spokes look good also...
I run Harley's 80 spokes on my Fat Boy. Originally I had a set of Hallcraft big spokes but the rear hub cracked. They ran tubeless as did the original cast "solids." A lot of people say there is no difference in handling between the solids and spokes. That wasn't my experience. I have run the 80 spokes with tubes since '06. I have never had a flat with any of the wheels in 47,000 miles so I would just run what you like best.
