Never Again
Last weekend I got this bright idea to order some street slammer bars for the train. Well the dealer called, said they were in. So I picked them this morning and started in on the job.
Let me say that was the biggest pain in the a## ever!!! I have about 10hrs in it so far and still have to button in up in the morning Those dang wire connectors are time consuming, for a guy with sausage fingers.
I also bought the black diamond lines and I think it'll go to the dealer for that job! From here on all my bright ideas will be taking care of by the dealer, it'll be worth the money imo!!!

I guess everyone has different taste in whats hard to work on and whats easy. Harleys are just tedious to work on if you don't have a good selection of tools. I find it fun to work on my Harley when its mild weather (no A/C in my garage only heat). But one trip to the Dealer and you get your bike back scratched up or something else wrong with it after paying $65 an hour and you may change your mind. Good luck, and if you lived near me I would offer to help.
ecShould have bought plug and play wire extentions from Novello or one of the other vendors for 30-40 bucks.First time on a Train should have been only 4-5 hr job if your mech inclined.Do you have the manual?
Yeah I have the manual, I just couldn't get those connectors apart to save my life. I just don't have the patience for this stuff anymore. Oh well, I got it so thats all the matters

Its all about the tools and being patient. When I did my apes/cables/chrome switch housings, etc. it took me nearly 2 weeks working on it in the evenings as time permitted. I just take my time and read everything thoroughly. I enjoy the wrenching and learning about the bike in the process. If I had to pay a dealer to modify my bike, it would be stock. No offense to those who pay but I just don't see it as worth the value.
