I used to run a 2000 twincam nightrain with a bigbore kit cams ported heads magnacharger super charger all on a standard clutch and belt drive i had no problems in seven years i thrashed the **** off that bike and its still running the stock belt even now, if it were me and i was snapping belts id go heavy duty x ring chain .You aint gonna snap that !

There's thousands of Harleys out there with more power than yours that are running fine with their stock belts. Perhaps your belt was damaged before installation?
I agree with it being another issue, either alignment or damaged pulley or belt. We've put together motors turning out over 100 hp and still running the stock belt for many many miles.
Have you lowered the bike i had a prob on mine when i lowered it on a wide tire kit the starter extension was touching the belt when i sat on it to start slowing the starter ..Just things to check, but you said its a clean snap it sounds more like a chop from some thing..
I was talking it over with some guys at work last night and one of them thought that it might be that the swing arm bushings are loose or give enough to torque the swing arm just enough to break the belt????? It is a after market chrome add on, it is lowered but still uses the stock tire. I am taking it to the shop today and we are going to go through it and look at everything...

I've always hear that 120+ lbs of torque means going back to a chain, but Kawasaki (which I'm a big fan of too and rode for 30 years) has a stock V twin that has 141 lbs of torque and runs a belt. Don't know anything about the realiability though.
