I just bought an '09 Deluxe for my wife. We put a 2" lowering kit on it and now the V&H Big Shots Long scrape going around corners. She doesn't have to lean very far over either. Anyone have any ideas other than switching pipes?
Mine will scrape occassionaly and the bike is at stock height. If you lean your body a little going into the corner the bike will stand up a little to compensate. I said a little. Give it a try with your own bike before you ask her to do it.
Otherwise, raise the bike back up or change the pipes.
Just lowered mine by about 1/2". I don't think you can lower a Deluxe 2" since it's already an inch lower from the factory. Put 422's on and extended the mount for the full 1" drop but it was two stiff and I was afraid of scraping my new (to me) pipes. Raised it up and now it's about a half inch lower. I don't lean so much around right handers, and on my Deluxe, the floorboards scrape first.
Might be scary for your wife to hear the scraping sound, but really, no harm done. Damage to the pipes will be down below where you don't see it. Just take it easy around right hand turns.

if you also lower the front it will help level ot the bike and keep those pipes off the ground, i ahve my fxst lowered 1.5 rear and 1 up front an mu hooker fourbidden pipes only scape on extreme cornering
Depending how they are mounted if you can move inward towards the bike at the frame mount it will help. I moved mine in about 1/2 - 3/4 " and it helped alot
