Question Bags 101 please?

Love the look and ride of my basic '10 Softail Deluxe but occassionally I need to do an overnighter for business. Any recommendations for some simple throw-over saddlebags that don't require supports or quick-disconnect hardsides (and/or supports) that will mount without having to remove my sissy bar?

Have a look at Bikers Friend Website. They got some really nice bags on there! :-)

If your not going to use them much I would get a good sissy bar bag and pack it for overnights. A good bag will ho;d more than what you can fit into a set of throw over bags .Look at www.coolsac.com they make a few different bags that are sized to fitover your sissy bar and are very secure and well amde , they used to make bags for HD to market

+1 for the Bikers Friend bag. I have the large, you can fit a ton of stuff in it, and it's nice to lean against on longer trips.

I finally sprung for a Biker's Friend XL. They're NOT cheap but I couldn't find one used which told me something. The 4 day ride I bought if for never happened because of the weather but I did try it out on the bike and I can't wait to use it. I have saddlebags but wanted it not only for the add'l space but for the back support. They have a lumbar support thingamabob that will come in handy for long hauls.

I would vote for the Boss Bags. The quick release is very convenient and the large ones hold a ton. They also don't have a wheel side cutout like many do to make them look bigger than they are. With Boss Bags, you get what you see.

They also work well with demountable sissy bar mounts if you have those (or want to).
