Has any Deluxe owner tried this "New" lowering kit?? JP Cycles says it will lower from 1/4 to 2 1/4 inches. I have been told that the standard rear lowering kits will not work with the Deluxe since they are somewhat already lowered.....Want to get the lowered look but don't have the funds for a Legend. I need a seat first.....Thanks
If you lower ure bike by more than 1 inch, you will hate the way it rides---I did it to my 05 Deluxe only to turn around and get the air ride. Now the bike feels like ure on a large very soft sofa. When parked you drop it 3 inches and it looks very very sick.
I'm just wondering why you guys invest upwards of 25-30K in a motorcycle, and then try to save a few bucks on your rear suspension?
Can someone answer this, because it seems just about everybody would rather mess with the stock shocks by adding a cheap kit to them.
Why not just do it right, and install a set of Progressive 413 shocks?
The labor is the same, and the end product is twice as good.
if you like the ride of the stock shocks and just want to lower the rear an inch or so, why toss the shocks?? not everyone has the money to replace something that is working fine and just needs a little mod to be what you want it to be. there is nothing wrong with changing out the shock shafts for longer ones, its a matter of opinion i guess......

My shocks are fine, I only have 3000 miles on the bike, why replace them? When they wear out, then i'll go with better.
I don't mind being cheap on mods that are not seen as long as they are functional and well built. I won't be going cheap on a seat mod or saddle bags. Both big ticket items and my bank roll is only so big for my toys....

I have the White Bros adjustable on mine. The cost was $75 bucks. I lowered it 1 1/2". The ride is fine and I didn't touch the front end. Its been like this for several years now. I have 40 thousand km on it and the stock shocks are great. I did the arctic circle where they took a pounding and still a good ride. I guess I wouldn't know a good ride if I sat on it.
