I would like to hear from other's that have addressed this: My Speedometer & Tach both quit @ the same time on my 2002 Flstf (Fatboy) ...I checked the fuse's (all good)..checked the connections under the speedo..all good.
The speedo light is also out, but the monitor lights..(oil, high beams, etc) all work, the auto bank turn signal off has quit working also...
This all seems to stem fom a serious drop that happened after my right footboard caught a low buried curb post...bike runs, operates fine otherwise..
I have considered changing the speed sensor, but would that take out the speedo light??
Thank's for any insight or suggestions you may have..(avoiding any other post's/objects has been considered)

First I would troubleshoot the electrical aspects... starting with the on/off switch... clean up all contacts and re-grease them.
As you have stated, dead speedo and the turn signal cancel are a sure indication that the VS Sensor is bad. That was the case with my 03 fatboy. The bike also ran rough at idle, and occasionally stalled. I tried to clean it and re-install, but that did not work. The new part was roughly $50, and easy to do yourself. I have 70,000 miles on it, and another sensor that got gummed up was the Air Control Sensor located in the throttle body. Someone on the site directed me to a thread that stated to use CRC spray cleaner. That worked well also. Hope this helps. Chris
