HAS ANYONE PUT ON A WIDE TIRE CONVERSION ON A DUECE OR KNOW OF WHICH BRANDS TO STAY AWAY FROM...WOULD LIKE TO DO MYSELF IF POSS....I CURRENTLY HAVE A 180 TIRE AND SPOKE RIM AND WOULD LIKE TO KEEP THE SPOKE LOOK...THANKS
I just installed an 18x5.5 wheel and 200 Avon tire on my Deuce. I was running a 180 Screamin Eagle Dunlop on the stock wheel. I went with the DM customs kit. I like that it kept the stock belt. The only problem I ran into, was that I needed to get a longer axle. I think they should include that in the kit. Some times you can get away with the stock axle though. I am no mechanic and I installed a new front wheel tire rotor , and the rear 200 and pully and rotor, and also put on a Platinum air system and it took me about 10 hrs. Hogpro also has a 200 kit, and they have t spoke wheel. They use the skinny belt for there install and that involves getting into the primary to install the new belt. Also a good way to go wider. The 200 really fills up the stock fender and with it lowered it really looks kick ***! It doesent look too long and high like a dirtbike. Call both and decide which way to go.
i have the hogpro kit.....excellent way to go but like gary said, you have to go to the narrower belt. i did it in a weekend, took my time and the results were kick @ss!!!!
Lets see if I have this picture stuff down. This shows the bike lowered all the way and raised all the way. I can run it anywhere in between also. And it can be done while you are riding.
