Default What is that plug?

I have a 2007 Heritage. On the right side, between the transmission and the exhaust, zip ties to the frame, there exists a plug that looks like there are 5 wires to it. I've asked at two dealers, no one seems to know what it is. I'm in the process of preparing to tow a small tent trailer and if this is a lighting plug, that would keep me from having to (butcher) my existing wiring. My wife rides a Deluxe, thaat plug exists on her bike as well.

Thanx in Advance

How about a pic? My first thought is it is the plug off the throttle body for the European models, but without a pic I can't say for certain.

May also be a O2 sensor wire. If you are running a power commander with 02 eliminators and did not plug your headpipes, they may have zipped tied your 02 sensor wires to the frame.

Bikes that are exported to Europe have to meet significantly tighter noise regulations than in the USA. There are two unused electrical plugs on US bikes. One that you found is used for what is called the Exhaust Actuator. This is a module that through a bit of mechanical linkage opens and closes a butterfly valve in one of the exhaust pipes. This forces all of the exhaust gas out one exhaust pipe which reduces the exhaust noise. The other connector is at the Throttle Body. Originally it is zip lock tied to the back of the Air Cleaner backing plate. This connector is attached to what is called the Active Intake Solenoid. This solenoid opens and closes a baffle that quiets the intake roar. If you locate a Factory Wiring Diagram you will find these items located on the Ignition Circuit Diagram. I believe that these two devices are turned On at low Engine RPM and Low or 0 MPH . . .oops I guess I meant KPH

Maybe a plug to hook a trickle charger so the battery doesn't die during storage.
