On my 08 Heritage the Mustang seat moves me back 3/4-1".

I got the Mustang Wide Touring for my 2006 Fat Boy and love it. It did move me forward quite a bit but it was good for me because I have shorter legs and longer torso. Was worried about the look as I liked the stock seat look but the Mustang looks fantastic. No regrets (other than not doing it sooner)!

You can consider a detachable backrest, then you have both of two worlds. Looks for short rides, comfort for long.
