Just got my heritage yesterday and rode around 150 miles this weekend. I can already tell I need to do something about back seat. It is much higher than rider seat and goes straight up. My problem is that is digs into my lower back at the belt line. I am currently looking for options like getting a full Mustang setup or even taking back seat to a cobbler and having it modified or getting a driver backrest put in. Anybody else having an issue with this? Any thoughts/comments/or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
I did search the forums and did not find a thread on this yet.
Yes the way it is made the top of the pillion comes out over the seat.I had themreplace it with the upgraded pillion and backrest because i ride 2 up a lot plus it looks better i think.

you had "them" replace it.... I am thinking you mean the Harley dealer. I will check into that. I can view your pic for a couple days... 5 'n' 5 rule.
Yea it does give some suport but i was just like kanelackos it hit me right n the belt. It was very uncomfotable, but the sock seat is fine , i really like it.
Yea the dealer . after i test rode i knew i didnt like it so got it on before i picked up the bike. Wife likes it too, great bike .
Good call! I was just looking at HD web site and looked at "Touring Passenger Pillion - Heritage SoftailŽ Classic Styling". $149.95. Was this the one you put on? http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/g...bmLocale=en_US
Stock rider seat is still fine with you?
On another note... I am noticing a banging noise up front when I hit harder bumps in road. Sounds like shield is loose but when I check it, everything seems tight. Could be windsheld bag I put on. I need to take off shield and test ride to see if I still hear noise.
Yes thats the one ,we bought it three weeks ago and we took it this morning for the 1000 mile service so we have rode it. The longest trip we took was 300 mile of difrent roads so we was gone about 10 hrs and the stock seat on the front did great for me and she said she done grat too.Dont know about the bang never noticed that on mine.
I had the same problem and went with the Mustang Wide Touring seat with the backrest on my 2010 and couldn't be happier. They are a little costly but it makes no sense to spend that much on a bike and not have a comfortable seat.

Thanks. That is one of my options. Do you have any pics you can post?
Chrisangie had a nice fix too. I like the look of what he did but would like to see yours also. Thx.
