Just wondering what most people think about putting saddlebags on a Deuce ?
Should saddlebags be used on the Deuce, or shouldn't they?
I've been getting pro's and con's about this.
Some say "yes put them on", others say "no leave them off, it looks better with none".
What are your thoughts ? If yes, put them on, what kind would you put on ? Soft Leather bags, Leather covered hard bags, or Plastic saddlebags ?
Thanks,
Bobby.
as a owner of one, I'd say no to bags its just not that type of bike certainly doesn't look good with them. the hard bags are small, expensive and imo, ugly. the deuce is a low frills semi light weight bike with a long wheel base to give a better ride, if you need bags, to carry stuff, you might consider getting a bagger instead, I know money is tight these days but I found I needed a bagger also
I say no, but thats me. Do what makes YOU happy. Everyone has different opinions of what looks good so remember that. I have a Rocker and alot of people say its ugly, but i dont think so and thats what matters to me.
If you need them and will use them - go for it. Get detachable bags - best of both worlds. You will get a lot more for your money of you do not get HD bags. Leatherworks, Boss..

Totally agree. Some days ya just need bags. Who cares what people think. Its ur bike. As suggested...detachable. How do ya go wrong?
My vote say's no...I don't like the look, but I do have a T-bag that I use all the time,on/off in 10sec.and it does the job, plus it has a handle if you need to carry it with you..t-bag for the bike

+ 1....Also have T-bag for mine(CoolSac) and can carry quite a bit o' stuff.....not a big fan of "saddlebags" on the Deuce, and the HD bags cost out the yang ('bout $800-$950 bux , by the time ya get everything, got'a relocate the signals,etc)....and it's a permanent mount, sort'a unless ya use these(or similar)http://ghostbrackets.com....might could live w/that setup.....not a big fan of "throw-overs", neither ......another option and looks great is a Solo Swingarm bag(see Dr V-Twin.....definately gonna do 1 o' those)
The owner that had my bike before me had some kind of saddlebags on it, as he took the bags off it, but left the mounts. I had the Harley dealer take off the mounts as they looked like two pieces of 5-6 inches high by 10-12 inches wide plates and looked kinda stupid by themselves. It would be nice to have some kind of bag to put my jacket in when it gets too warm to wear as it's not uncommon for it to be 50 degrees out in the morning here in New Hampshire and have it warm up to in the 90's which is too warm to be wearing a sweatjacket and a leather coat. If I had a bag of some kind I could take off the second coat and store it in the bad when it gets too warm out.
The bike in this photo is what I ride and would be putting some kind of bag on.
What's your thoughts and and thanks for your advise.
