Default New cables, need help

Guys,
i just bought some 12in apes for my NT and i was wondering if you can point me in the right direction for getting new cables for them. Can i use a set of softail custom cables that has mini apes stock?

Thanks for you help ahead of time.

Talk to Dr. V-Twin.

I got all my new cables and bushings for my 12" apes through them.
Very happy with the service

Mine are Magnum Shielding. You can buy them from a variety of sources. The key is getting the right length. Length will vary based on the height of your bars as well as how wide they are (to some degree).

I used all +6 inch cables on my 14" Burly narrow apes. One issue I ran into was that a 90 degree bend at the controls for the brake cable didn't work that well for the +6 inch cable. It wasn't long enough with that bend. I ended up needing to order the 35 degree bend brake line directly from Magnum at +6. That ended up looking better anyway since it follows the line of the bars better.

I have found that the best way to determine cable length is the install the handlebars, have everything in place, and then install mock cables to determine the proper length required (you can use the old cables you have and then just measure the distance that remains). That way you get the best fit and the best look. Most places will not allow you to return cables once they have been purchased, so you must get them right the first time.
