Default Anyone using floor board extensions?

For those of you that are using the floor board extenders.....Did you replace the shift pegs with longer ones? or do you feel the stock ones still work fine?

I just installed my ext.'s & it is raining so I did not get to ride yet , but sitting on them seems a little strange with pegs so far away ? Maybe it will be fine once I get out & actually ride it.. Atleast I can get around that damn air cleaner now!

Thanks

It was a little awkward at first, but I have gotten used to it, left the shift pegs as they were

I thought about doing this on my RK....I will be interested to hear what you say after you ride. Good luck.

I put them on my 05 RK and went with a Walters Workshop extended rear shift lever. Freed up alot of space for me, plus keeps your legs a little further away from all that heat. Simple, effective and cheap mods.

At 6'6" I need the legroom, so I've got the floorboard extenders (spacers behind the supports), Arlen Ness supports (to move the boards forward) AND HD's extended floorboards (which moves them further forward)! I did install a longer shift arm, but nothing else. Even with all 3 changes (done 1 at a time), it didn't take long to get used to the new peg position and I was able to get the much needed leg room.

Would you mind posting some detailed pictures of this?

One of the first and best mods I did to my FatBoy was put Bubba's Floorboard Extension Kit on. Moved the floorboards forward about two inches and the kit came with extended brake and gear shift levers. I'm so used to it I can't tell you how the switch from stock to these was. I'm 6'5" and every little bit helps.

I run the Harley Goodies extensions on my ride and have never felt the need for a longer pedal or peg. The way I see it is that there is less range of motion required from my foot to get to the brake pedal and the shifter peg now as instead of lifting my foot up and around the shifter or rear brake I now just lift it up and move it over. They really do simplify things.

I ride quite a bit and adapt to things quickly, in fact I have not thought about this in quite a while. I am not even tall, but the added comfort really changes the ride on the bike. I added some huge floorbaords too so I have numerous foot positions. I can ride like I have mids or with my heels all the way at the end of the boards and my toes on the highway pegs. A great product at an exteremely low price. Youc an't go wrong.

I think too much thinking will always lead me down the wrong path. LOL.

Since the original question was related to the shift peg, I ran out to the garage and shot these fours angles of my left floorboard - with the modifications I mentioned previously. As you can see, the shift peg still overlaps the floorboard.
