If your burning up bearings that fast you definitely have a spacer issue. The preload on the bearing has to be right or exactly what is happening will keep happening.

I have had eight wheel bearing failures, 4 in the rear and 4 in the front, Last time my scoot was at dealership the called HD factory and was told to buy a set of American made sealed bearings to fit my bike, took bike to dealer to have new American made bearings installed, , HD told them not to install bearings because it would void my extended service plan. So the dealer installed OEM bearings, 7 months and 8700 miles later, had front bearing failure #4 yesterday, took bike to dealership this time they installed the American made bearings and told me my ESP was ok as long as they work on the bike, if bearings fail anywhere else, ESP will be void.

What are the symptoms of bad bearings on a bike other than the obvious noise from the axles. Does it come on all of sudden and make the bike too unsafe to ride or can you put the repair off for awhile.

makes the bike unsafe, it can be a loud squeal and may only make the noise when you use the front brake, in worse case it is a grinding feel in the grip like your driving a gravel road. have 60k on the rear and no problem and have 14k on the front and rolls much better.
