I just bought a 1999 Fatboy and was wanting to lower the rear 1". Does the stock shocks have enough play to adjust this far safely or do I need to do something different? Cheapeast way?
I have a '99 FLSTF, it's lowered with a white brothers lowering kit, cheapest safe way to do it. I've been all over from rigid to only stock minus 2" (present).
I've got the 1" kit from HD on my Fatboy and it's not too bad.
I'm about 300lbs, so any 2-up riding is done on my Road King (that's also lowered, but rides better).
If you're not a huge guy or have a huge significant other, you may be just fine.
I too have been looking at that for my 98 Fatboy. I have been looking at the Progressive. They can be adjusted up to two inches. Everything I have read says they are great. Hope this helps.
