Anthony did you go with the stock height? I went with the -4 inches and I can’t believe how well it works.
Ride safe..

I'd like to wish you luck with your Cee Bailey windshield -- that is, more than I had. I'd been using CB shields going all the way back to 1994. At that time they were made about twice as thick as the stock HD shields, and looked great as well.

Back around March I ordered a new one from them. When it came I noticed right away that it wasn't the same as the older CB shields -- mainly, it was thinner. But I put it on anyway. About a month later I was riding down the freeway at about 70 mph when I felt something hit my chest. I looked down just in time to see the top half of the shield slide off my lap onto the side of the road. Nothing had hit the shield, it simply fell apart.

Naturally I notified CB, who notified their plastics supplier. They were properly horrified, realizing what might have happened and the lawsuit that would inevitably have ensued. They sent me a new shild right away, which I have not mounted. Also, I circled back and picked up the section that came off and sent it to them. They said they would get back to me with their test results, but I never heard a word.

I understandably have completely lost confidence in them. I ordered a custom-height Clearview shield with the "recurve" top. Had to wait a while but it was well worth it. Again, I wish you luck with your CB shield, but I would never order from them again.

By the way, the sign above the pic of the broken shield was serendipity -- I couldn't have planned that pic any better.

Truly I do think it was a freak thing and I'm sure you'll be fine. However, like the sign says, "You only get one chance." I'm happy with the Clearview.
