I want to go with a ceramic black thunderheader for my '06 Night Train. On the website it says that the correct pipe for me to use is the 1027 model. However, I like when the rear exhaust pipe wraps around the timing cover like model 1017. I have 3" forward control extensions. Would the 1017's fit?
MIMO. Do you get blueing showing on your Thunderheader or is it completely covered by the heat shields? I have seen several that were discolored back near the rear end.
Yeap, the blueing is covered by the heatshields, since it is not a double wall system, the parts near the engine or the tight curves tend to blue a lot due temperature.
And yes also there is blueing between the "end cone" (the anti-back flowing piece) and the megaphone pipe. But curiously I took my bike for a complete detailing service today and the blueing dissapeared. If you want me to, I can ask the service provider what kind of product did he use. The thing is now, tune the engine perfectly in order to keep the blues away.
