I own a 2005 Deuce FI with 14800 miles and it has always been good to me but I just started having a problem. I am pretty good on keeping her maintained and this started suddenly so I am asking for your help.
On normal startup I hear a buzz it then stops then the bike starts and runs but lately the first buzz sound has been strange not a consistent buzz but like a skipping buzz sound and now the bike misses and sputters while driving. It was do for an oil change (about 3500 miles on this oil) so while I was changing the oil I did the plugs and wires too they seemed fine and the miss is still there? I don't have a battery tested but my tender reports a green light and it doesn't struggle to start. Could it be a failing battery? Maybe a coil? I am no mechanic but it feels like a electrical miss. Do the fuel injectors go bad on these bikes? Please help my wife is mad because we missed a bike ride.
Thanks for any help.
Glen
Check the battery. Load test it or have it done. If it is the original battery it could be going bad. The buzz is probably the feul pump. But chack the battery first. A bad battery makes everything act wierd. If that isn't the problem check for codes.
It's probably the fuel line inside the tank to the fuel pump. It rubs the inside of the tank and gets a hole in it. Replaced mine twice on my 06 Deuce in the last 60,000 miles.
Sure sounds like hose off fuel pump has pin hole from rubbing . Alot of this going around now. Let us know ,Have not changed mine yet ,,,just playing the waiting game .
