Default Question??? Chrome Front End on a Deluxe

Can someone please clarify if you really need the whole 529.00 kit or are the 299.00 Chrome lowers all you need.No matter how hard I look everything seems to be chrome except the lowers. What am I missing.I know the obvious axle nut covers which I already have and the 3pcs set fork nut cover on top of the tree which I really don't care about,Everything else in that kit seems to be a duplicate of what already came with the bike. Seems like a waste of $$$$.My Dealer pointed out the top sliders (cow bells I think he called them). But mine look chrome already if they are not what are they Be cause I am having a very hard time telling the difference between any other chrome on my bike and those. Thanks Tom

If the uppers are like they are on the touring bikes, there will be a noticeale difference if you don't swap them out. They are polished SS not chrome. I can tell you that when I did the swap on my Road King, I had the parts guy do a break out of the parts in the kit. It cost less to buy the parts seperately than it did to buy the kit. I also already had the axle covers, but even if I had bought the ones with the kit, buying it as a kit cost more

The stock uppers (cowbells) are not chrome they are polished stainless like your stock handlebars. There is a big difference in the look compared to the chrome. If you want it to all match change out the uppers for chrome at the same time.

Or just bufff and polish the lower legs and they will match your stock uppers, not as shiney as chrome but close for the cost of labor only

I think you get chrome lowers, spacers, cowbells, and the rear tins. If you're not in a hurry, watch ebay. I got a brand new kit for something like $300 shipped.

Got mine from ebay also for cheap, you just have to spend some time searching. It's well worth the wait. I had the same prob, I already had some chrome parts and didnt need the whole kit.

So If i just buy the chrome lowers 329.00 and the chrome uppers 75.00 I would have a complete chrome front end right??Because everything else is chrome?? I already have the wheel spacers, and axle nut covers and like I said I dont care about the Fork nut covers,So for 404.00 - the 15 % my dealer gives me off on parts It would be 344.00 + Tax Does this seem like a fair deal.I know I could do better with ebay but my bike has been laid up for weeks and just want to get it done and try to salvage whats left of the ridding season
