The pistons had a fair amount of carbon buildup on top.

50,000 miles and you'll have a bunch of crud built up. In reality, it wasnt as bad as it could have been.
On the other side of the coin, new pistons and cleaning the crud out will lower the c/r by a couple of points

Another thing to not is that for some reason the kit did not come with the base o ring gaskets. Had to run to the dealer to pick s a few up.

Nicely done, keep us up to date. "IF" the wife will let me collect the bucks I would very much like to put a big bore kit on my 96"er.
Be fun to teach the kids on the crotch rockets a lesson in nothing beats cubic inches, except more cubic inches (Stroker McGurk).

Looks good I saw mine in the same way on monday I am doing the same thing now. when all the parts come in and get put on in about a week.we took it apart to messure run out than order cams. so now wait a few days for me.
