The build is done. I'll be back in a few hours after some break in miles. Started on the first crank. Time to set some rings and get some fast miles. If you are waiting for pricing I'll be back about 9:30pm PST and get you what you need. Thanks for your patience and understanding.
Thanks for sharing with us... can't wait to here how she did on your ride.
It didnt blow up so I guess that is good news
When Drew took his initial ring seating run, all I could say was it sure picked up RPM's awfully fast. The **** eating grin on Drews face when he pulled back in pretty much backed that up.
Drew, What was the total time involved ( minus first aid) to do it? I am going to do a 107 over the winter. Is it pretty much forward or is there anything off the wall to doing one? I have done race motors for my 66 Chevelle SS in the past and raced moto-cross and redid those motors but not a Harley motor yet. Great write up BTW.
It took us 2 days taking our sweet time. One day for disassembly and reassembly up to the heads. And a second day to put the rest back together. It is all very simple. If you can do big block, you can do this. This was my first engine build. If you are doing cams at the same time add another 6 hours if it is your first time. I was surprised how simple it all was and am very happy I did not pay someone to do it.
