Hey. New member here. Purchased a Rocker C in Late July. Luv it but, like so many others, can't stand the seat. Read a lot about Danny Gray, but his seat gets hit by the fender. Read one thread where a Phipps saddle dented a fender. Corbin is ugly. Any other options other than heartland? A little help for a new guy please.
Kowan, Just curious...how tall are you and how much do you weigh? It seems this has a huge bearing on whether or not a Danny Gray seat is struck by the fender. Thanks...
5'8" and 160 lbs.
I didn't mount the clear film, but others have posted pictures and installed, it's hard to tell it's on there.
That link http://www.alligatorbob.com/ DragonSlayer08 posted, at least one member has a seat by him. He can't store the pillion under the seat, but can attach it or the luggage rack Harley offers for the FXCWC.
The seat looks great. So worth checking also.
I have the Danny gray seat and have had zero fender damage from it. The plastic film that comes with it completely protects the fender from the occasional rubbing of the seat on the fender. Most important is that i found it to be much more comfortable then the stock seat. Well worth the 350 it will cost you off eBay.
Hey all, also a new member and new FXCWC owner. Read a lot on this forum about the seat issue and have a question I've been dying to know - does the FXCW 2up rig (struts, passenger seat, backrest) fit w a Danny Gray seat on the FXCWC? Seems like I have only seen guys do this with the FXCW seat and not the Danny Gray installed (possibly because it doesn't work otherwise). Thanks!
The struts need notched out to fit over the mounting tab on each side of the Danny gray seat.
Someone posted detail pictures of the notch they cut out.
Sorry, I can't recall the thread it was in, but it can work.
I am 6'4" 250 lbs. and no problem with Danny Gray seat. I put the plastic on the fender, just in case, but no rubbing. Oh, and I ride it too. No garage queen here.
I just got my 2010 Rocker C. Love the bike, BUT THE SEAT......ouch!!!! I was wondering if the Danny Gray or Heartland actually gives you some back support like I found on the Softail Heritage? the Heritage seat did not have a back support, like a Corbin back support, but did curve up enough to support my lower back so that I could ride for several hours with no back ache.
Just wanted to hear from those who have the Danny Gray or Heartland seat, or other, if you feel that you are getting some back support from these seats.
I'm riding with the "trick" seat in the up position all the time to give a little more support, but I can not go more then about an hour with out my back aching.
