Hello All, I need some advice on an exhaust issue. I just put on some vance and hines duals that my brother-in-law had on his 05 springer. I have an 06 heritage. The header pipe has the crossover and they fit just fine, the question that I want to know is, can I put any brand name slipons, or do I have to stick to the V&H?? I would like something a lil longer like the cholo's from samson, but not sure it they will go in the header pipe with no problems.

I think the V&H's are a different diameter pipe than OEM or something like a Samson.... A different slip may not "bolt" right on......

Let me see if I can find the info that's banging around in my head.

 

If the slipons fit the head pipe and will mount up properly, no problem. However, they may be baffled differently than the V&H units and could have more or less back pressure which could affect tuning.

 

V&H use the same outside diameter of pipe Samson does on the true duals. Samson mufflers with Samson brackets will bolt right on.
