I am tall, 6' 3", so I can mount or dismount from either side. Sometimes I will
throw my left leg over the rear seat on the Heritage, and sometimes I will pick
up my foot and just set it over the seat. I can do this from either side. Mostly I
do this so if anyone is watching, it's just to mess with 'em, like holding the lid
on a jar and turning the jar to open it.
I have never even once got on from the "opposite" side of my bike. It just seems unnatural, as well as more challenging...unless one has a center stand.
