I have a rider backrest attached to my sprung seat. I usually mount from the high side by lifting my left leg and sliding it over the seat. Lately my back has been giving me trouble, so I mount from the left by folding the backrest down, until I'm in the seat.

I run up from behind and leap unto the seat...like the old cowboy shows....
