Classic/Vintage tires for X Bones ?
I'm real happy with my SB but leaning towards maaaaaybe just maaaybe getting an Xbones sometime next year so have been doing a little homework on the bike, reading threads, seeing what's out there for them and looking at your rebuilds.
The X bones is a nice retro bike, best one out there if you like that style..so here's my question regarding Classic/Vintage tires to suit the Bones..
Avon make the SpeedMaster MKII 5.00-16 which fits a 3-3.5 rim width, comes out as wide as the 130 original width tire and is made from modern rubber compound just with a classic Vintage tread pattern and rated to 118 mph, perfect looks for the Bones.
The tire is listed as a rear by Avon but sold on some sites as a front/rear tire but even if it is a rear,up front you just get it mounted backwards.Unfortunately I have'nt found a suitable 200 width classic style tire for the rear to match but the original Dunlop has an old tread pattern as is lol.
Have any of you had experiance of running the Avon SM MKII tire ?
