Default Tire Replacement

I have to put tires on my 05 Ultra Classic. My choices are the Dunlops, Metzler or Avon. Any suggestions?

I'd get the black rubber ones, maybe some white stripes

I've always liked either Metzeler or Dunlops myself. On my '05 E-Glide I'm coming up on 13k on the rear Dunlop and it's still got a thousand or so to go, so I'll be sticking with the Dunlop as this is excellent fora rear tire.

Going with metzlers on mine. Pick it up at local indy tomorrow. I ran Metz`s on my Gold Wing and averaged 17,000 miles a set. I don`t expect that with the SG but feel I will do better than the Dunlops. I always thought the ride was much better with the Metz`s also.

Ride Safe,

Mike

Just bought my Ultra (used 06)so I'm not much help. I really like the way the stock Dunlops handle and they seem to be wearing good at 13,000 with lots of tread left. I think I'll stick with them except do away with the white walls. I had a goldwing prior to this HD and the only tire I could get any kind of mileage on were Dunlops.I was told it was because of the weight of the bike, which is similar in both the Ultra and the goldwing.

Based just on the word of mouth on here, buy the metzlers if you want a better ride and buy the dunlops if you want more miles out of the tire.

My buddy just put Metzlers on his RK and loves them. So far, I've stuck with Dunlops.

Several of my touring type buddies use the dunlop Elite III's and the continental "Conti-tours" all get 10-12,000 miles

The Dunlop 402 is the only tire with the load range rating approved by HD for the baggers.
