It's for European export bikes. It controls a solenoid called the "Active Intake Solenoid" One wire is Light Green with a Red tracer and the other is Gray with an Orange tracer. It is used to quiet the intake noise (more than you might think in dB's) so that the bike can meet the European noise standards. There is also another four wire connector down by your exhaust that operates an "Exhaust Actuator" that through a bit of linkage closes off one of the exhaust pipes at an idle . . . also European and also for noise control . . . here in California we ain't got nuthin' on the rules and reg's in Europe!

Use a zip lock tie and secure it out of the way. On our bikes it isn't doing any harm . . . mostly like a belly button . . . or **** on a bull.

If it really bothers you there's no rule, or reason for that matter to even keep it on the bike.

Just swipe an old bottle of the wife's nail polish, cut the end off close to the harness and seal the wire ends up with a couple or three coats of the nail polish.
You don't even need a zip-tie that way and it will never pop out to bother you again.

Thanks for the explanation Bluehighways. So if I were to move to say, Belgium and ship my Deluxe there I'd have to make mods (hook up the gangling wire thingy) to meet there "standards?"
Not that I'm heading there anytime soon, but very interesting nonetheless.
