Default Deluxe Mod Questions??

Just got a new Deluxe and should have her broken in the next week or so. I've been riding an older, carb'd Deuce so I'm not that familar with what needs to happen with the fuel injected bikes when mods are done.

(1) What's the best after market air-cleaner....I don't want any big cone filters.

(2) What tuner?? - does the power commander have the ability to remap the FI similar to the screamin eagle component.... i.e does the Power commander have a basic (canned) stage 1 program?

(3) Can I add do a stage 1 remap while leaving the exhaust and aircleaner stock? This engine runs much hotter than the older deuce. As I understand the stage 1 basically richens up the fuel mix.

(4) If I do this work on my own, will this affect any future warranty claims?

Thanks...

(1) Personally I like the air cleaners from Roland Sands.
(2) I don't know
(3) I don't know

You could also try to remap your original software, but that is only possible by the dealer.

1) There is no "best". Choose the one you like the looks of best. I went with the one FuelMoto offers.

2) There is no "best". Each tuner (SERT, PC, V&H, etc..) has it's own proponents and detractors, and it's own pros and cons. Doing a search here will find you so much data your head will end up spinning, and you won't walk away with a definitive "best". I went with a PC V because it's flexible, everyone uses them and can tune them (if I choose to change things later on, there are tons of canned maps available to try without a dyno tune). I purchased the aforementioned PC from FuelMoto, told them how my bike was setup (Air Cleaner and pipes, plus anything else) and it came pre-programmed with a tune that seems to work great. A plain PC does not come with a tune, you need to make one yourself or download one.

3) You can, but it's not worth the $$ IMHO, because you'll want to do it all over again when you do a AC and/or pipes.

4) Yup, it could. If they can prove that something you did caused the fault for which you are asking for warrantee service on. Some dealers use it as a general excuse, others don't.

I came from a Carb'ed Deuce to a Deluxe too. You won't regret the move!

so after looking around, it looks like the power commander is the way to go for a tuner. I'm leaning towards the V&H pipes, but I'm still undecided on the air-cleaner

Anyone have suggestions on a good place to purchase a power commander.....somewhere that has good customer support?? I assume the PC V is the way to go?

On a fuel management system, The best for customer service is. http://www.fuelmotousa.com/
Fuel Moto. They are a sponsor here also.

I also like V&H pipes, except the fishtails by them.
For an Air cleaner it is really just what you like in looks. Here are my favorites, if I could afford them right now.
