ok I was reading posts about the soild rims not being a problem with wind....BIG BULL! I switched out my rims for lace rims......WOW big difference!!! Don't have to fight wind and being blown into another lane when a big rig passes....that whole wheels turn soild as they spin is BULL....I now enjoy riding...I can now ride relax without that awful shove.....fatboy 2004 I now love you......
you do know why the Harley engineers put those holes in the wheels of the newer Fatboys? that was to reduce the pressure differential from side to side, thus making a newer Fatboy easier to handle in a high wind situation.
btw: how do Standards and Night Trains handle winds with their solid rear wheels? what about FatBobs? what about Ultras and Roadkings that have very limited openings in their wheels - and has bags to block the rear wheel? seems only Fatboy riders complain about crosswinds.
and I rode an '08 Fatboy for 3 years with no discernible wind effects.
I can't tell a difference. If the wind is blowin' hard all bikes will wiggle a little. My Sporty did it. My 05 Fatboy is way more stable all the way to 90 mph.
I would like to see the new wheels though.
Does any other Harley have as many urban legends as the Fatboy? The whole rim thing and the fat man\little boy thing? Any other myths that make the Fatboy legend grow? How about my pecker got bigger after a single ride on my Fatboy! Or owning a Fatboy will get you laid more often! okay that might be true.
