Default 2010 Fatboy

Been looking at a 2010 Fatty at a local dealer. They are asking 15,995 but i think i can get it for 15,000. 514 miles on the bike. Chrome forks and chrome wheels. The rest is stock. Is 15,000 a good price?

Sorry i dont have any pics but the bike looks new.

Thanks.

I would start at 14K out the door but still 15K out the door ain't bad .. This is still a used Bike that's over a year old now with the 2011 Models out .. Bottom Line it's your money and the idea is get it for the least you have to pay ..

Always start your bidding low as you can always work the price up.

If you are not in a hurry, wait about a month when sales really come to a stand still with cooler weather.

Tell the 14K and you'll ride it home today. If they don't go for it, go up to 15K with some extras thrown in.

My bike was listed at 18K and got it for 16K with stage one, V&H fuel pak and pipes put on. I already owned the pipes.

Also if it's new I don't think they can get more 2011's (Fatboys) in until they clear the 2010's (Fatboys), so they'll want to unload it to get and sell a 2011 at sticker price

I bought a new 2010 FatBoy with ZERO miles on the day that the 11's were announced, but as yet undelivered. I paid just about $17K, INCLUDING the optional chrome wheels and security system which is an easy grand already, AND NYS Taxes, prep, etc., AND got $200 store credit and a T-Shirt.

p.s.: Remember, $15,995 is FULL RETAIL.

Hang tough, pal!

That's pretty impressive - I haven't kept up with pricing since I bought mine in 2007, but at that time they were running $22-23k down in Southern California. I ended up getting mine for $20k out the door, and that was a good deal IMHO. How times have changed, apparently!

Bottom line is, you are likely dealing from a position of strength, which is the best situation you can be in as a buyer. Play some hardball, don't become jaded with the glitter, and you should be able to end up with a great bike for a great price which you will likely cherish for years to come.

Best of luck!
Roger

Thanks for all the input. And I'm not in a big hurry..........this is just a nice looking bike. And yes, sometimes the glitter in the dealership will get the best of you.

Thanks again.
