Default Deluxe Apes vs Beach bars

Just picked up my 07 Deluxe about a month ago and have been starting the mods. The ultimate goal is to have a badass socal style sled when Im done, but I cant decide on the bars.

Right now Im leaning towards 38.5 Burly brand beach bars, 12.5" Wild 1 apes or Burly brand 14" apes. Apes will be set at the 12 o'clock position.

I love the look of both, but as many I am concerned with comfort. Keep in mind I am 5' 8" so I wont be going any taller than the 14's.

Any input from the socal style deluxes would be greatly appreciate. Especially from those who have ran both.

LFTD1,

I have 18" Carlini gangsta apes and really like them. Several friends of mine have had the beach bars and don't like that the hit your legs. I'm from Bakersfield. If you ever want to check out my bike let me know. My bike still has a lot of work to be done but it has a good start.

I'm 5'7 and I'm rocking the wild 1's 16's they are perfect in the 12 o'clock bro but IMO the beach bars look the best I chose apes for comfort

I know it doesn't look the same, but I adjust my bars (Burly Bikini Beach) up enough to where they don't hit.

I'm 5'8" as well and I have Wild 1 12.5" Apes but mine are set in line with the forks as I need the pullback due to a bad shoulder. Setting 12.5" Apes at 12 o'clock will be pretty tall as I have moved mine just a tad forward once and it raised my hands quite a bit.

Pics of my hand height are in my album if you care to look....hope it helps!

I'm 5'9" and run Carlini 16"'s. I ran Wild 1 16"'s before the Carlini's. My buddy who is 5'7" runs the same bars as well. When I bought my bike it has the 12" apes on it and I fouidn them to short for what I was after. That was the first change on the bike many years ago.

Wouldnt really consider mine a socal style sled but I have the 16" carlini gangster apes. Think they look the best and are comfortable as hall. My personal opinion is Id go with the apes.

Those bags look great on your bike. Looks like something out of the 40s or 50s.

This is my 06 Deluxe with 16" apes. I am 5'9" and don't run them as far as the 12 o'clock position but it works for me.
