Newbie on here lookin for advice, my ride has been in storage over the winter months with a trickle charger in place to keep the battery charged.
problem now is the bike alarm, factory fitted, won't let me start the bike. The ride is a 2005 1200 sportster custom & has a key fob to set or unset alarm. When I use the fob the indicators flash twice & turn off but the red key indicator on the instrument head stays on with the ignition on. It's a cracker day for a ride & the better halfs champing at the bit so any idea's would be appreciated.
Don't know where U live but most of us here in the states I'd say U missed summer,, its almost winter here again. About time to put her back on the charger.
Have U tried to read Ur manual to see how to do..
If not why didn't U post this in the Sporty section instead of the softail section?
Bike is stored in a detached garage, had no issues in the past, also tried moving bike well out of garage to start. Its a long weekend here as well so no mechanics around to assist.
I'm not sure about the early button fob, but the newer button-less ones allow manually entering the security code to start the bike incase of a dead battery, damaged, or lost fob.
The back of the owner's manual has a couple of removeable instruction cards to carry in your wallet just incase.
Hey Kowan! we have music & the blacktop is waiting, thanks a million for the assistance. Great to know that where ever you are in the world there is always some one with the right answer.
Cheers & beers
