Bought a bare bones for my 02 from Eastern Performance for 150.00 .Cheap because it was a frame mount! Had to special order one for my 09 directly from Lepera because no one had fender mount ! Had to wait 2 months for Lepera and pay 200 +.
As far as the pillion goes I have the touring pillion for the OL she complains about anything less.Looks like **** but if I'm gonna ugly my bike up with a pillion and backrest I don't need the bitching about discomfort adding to my pain. Can't wait to buy a bagger so I never have to ruin the looks of the D Lux again.
Everybody is a little wrong...lol. There are actually two different mounts for newer Softails ...single bolts and dual bolts both from the rear. I believe FX's are single bolts and some but not all of the FL's are the dual bolt....you can make any Softail seat fit...I have an 06 FL seat on my 84 FX.
Just having the same problem here with the lepara shitty pillion and mounts. Has anyone cut off the pillion mounting bracket(with the holes for mounting to under seat) and welded on another one with the mounting fork for the stock rear seat bolts??? Seems like my only option other than suction cup
